Jemma Jelf
As a multi-disciplinary artist, voyeur and exhibitionist, I view sex as an art-form. I look at the diverse attitudes by which we represent ourselves sexually and how that is determined by factors such as gender, age, sexual orientation, background, and religion. I challenge social stereotypes and taboos on sex and the naked body. I work in various mediums, including sculpture, printmaking, photography and performance. To me the approach is just as important as the subject. The materials I use are usually recycled or found, and by combining them I attempt to transform ordinary matter into something unexpected and thought provoking.
